You can stay in Versailles, and a bus will take you back from INRAE to Versailles RER train station “Versailles Chateau Rive gauche” on the first and second evening and in the morning of the second and third day. In that case, it is better to book a hotel near the castle (i.e., Ibis Versailles Chateau, A l’Hotel des Roys, Royal Hotel, Hotel La résidence du Berry… ).

BEWARE: Versailles is a touristic place, don’t wait too long for booking!

Alternatively you can decide to stay near the Versailles chantiers train station (le Home Saint Louis, Hotel Versailles Chantiers) from which you can take a direct train to Jouy en Josas in the morning and evening (or walk to Versailles Chateau Rives Gauche to take the bus).

If you have a car, there are other possibilities for accommodation in Jouy en Josas (Best Western hotel) or in nearby towns.

Finally, if you want to stay in Paris, you can take the RER in the morning to either go to Jouy en Josas (but there in a change of trains at Massy-Palaiseau) or to Versailles Chateau Rive Gauche to get the bus.
