History

The inaugural meeting of the EPG was held in Cambridge, UK in 1984. Since then the EPG had no incorporated status, and was a relatively informal group, with only a 2 page Terms of Reference. After more than 35 years, in 2020 it was decided that the EPG should get a more formal status to be able to further advance European placental research. In 2021 the EPG became an official society.
